STEPHENVILLE, Texas — The South Plains College men’s and women’s rodeo teams closed out the season on Saturday at the Tarleton State Stampede, winning three region titles as Brey Yore, John Hisel, and Allie Murphy qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo.
BIG SPRING — The South Plains College men’s and women’s rodeo teams placed nine in the Howard College Rodeo finals Saturday night as the Lady Texans took fifth in the final team standings and the Texans placed eighth on the weekend.
SNYDER — The South Plains College men’s and women’s rodeo teams qualified six for the finals of the Western Texas College Rodeo over the weekend, posting three top-three finishes at the Western Texas College Coliseum.
SWEETWATER — Allie Murphy led the South Plains College women’s rodeo team to the team title over the weekend at the Ranger College Rodeo, posting the top time in barrel racing at the Nolan County Coliseum.
ODESSA — The South Plains College men’s and women’s rodeo teams opened the spring season with a pair of fourth-place team finishes over the weekend at the Odessa College Rodeo at the Ector County Coliseum.
LUBBOCK — The South Plains College men’s rodeo team placed second in the final team standings Saturday night at the Texas Tech University Rodeo at Cook’s Garage in their final rodeo of the fall semester.
LEVELLAND — The South Plains College women’s rodeo program was well represented over the weekend as freshman Allie Murphy, a native of Justiceburg, Texas, and her horse, Shawnee Ta Fame, won the $100,000 jackpot at the Texan Barrel Race, held at the Taylor Telecom Arena in Abilene.
CANADIAN, Texas — Brey Yore won the steer wrestling event title as the South Plains College men’s rodeo team placed third in the team standings over the weekend at the Frank Phillips College rodeo.
VERNON — Brey Yore totaled 195 points over the weekend en route to capturing the men’s all-around title and leading the Texans to a fourth place team finish at the Vernon College Rodeo.
ALPINE — Allie Murphy placed second in barrel racing as the South Plains College men’s and women’s rodeo teams placed four in the finals of the Sul Ross State University Rodeo over the weekend at the SALE Arena.
PORTALES — The South Plains College men’s and women’s rodeo teams qualified seven for the finals in their first rodeo of the season over the weekend at the Eastern New Mexico University Rodeo.
