Lady Texans pummel McCook 64-37 Saturday in Hobbs

HOBBS, NM — Jennifer Silva scored a game-high 15 points and three players scored in double figures Saturday as the South Plains College women's basketball team pummeled McCook Community College 64-37 at the Caster Activity Center.

The Lady Texans have won four of their last five games and improved to 7-6 on the season and will look to stay in the win column when they travel to Tucson, Arizona for the Aztec Holiday Classic Dec. 28-30.

Silva poured in six of 14 shots from the field over 28 minutes while also grabbing seven boards and recorded three blocked shots. Dabria Blackwell netted 10 points and three boards in 24 minutes, connecting on four of six shots from the field as the Lady Texans shot a 35.4 percent clip from the field and dropped in six 3s in the contest.

Sahir Alizada chipped in 10 points coming off the bench for South Plains, while Bella Belong finished with nine points and five rebounds.
