Lady Texans return to the hardwood on Thursday at the Texan Dome

LEVELLAND — The No. 16-ranked South Plains College women's basketball team will begin a four-game homestand on Thursday when they tipoff against SWCID at 6 p.m. at the Texan Dome.

The Lady Texans enter the contest as winners of five straight as they have won each game by double digits and have outscored their opponents by 21.8 points per game. South Plains picked up a pair of wins last weekend in Clarendon including a 59-44 pummeling of Seminole State on Nov. 11.

Heating up:

Freshman Mikayla Kuehne leads the Lady Texans in scoring with 11.8 points per game including a 42.2 percent shooting mark from behind the arc. Kuehne has scored in double digits three times this season including a 17 outing on Nov. 7 against Garden City.

Gabbie Green is averaging 9.7 points per game and shooting 51 percent from the field on the year. Green scored 15 points and was 6-for-11 from the floor against Seminole State and scored a career-high 19 on Nov. 4 against Eastern Arizona

Following Thursday's matchup, the Lady Texans will host Chandler-Gilbert on Friday at 5 p.m., followed by a matchup with Phoenix College on Saturday at 1 p.m., before ending the weekend with a 2 p.m. tipoff on Sunday against West Texas Drive. Each game will be streaming live at spctexans.com.
