Baty, Inkina earn WJCAC All-Conference honors

Following a 20-win season and earning a berth in the Region V tournament in 2016, the South Plains College Lady Texans Dabraisia Baty and Yanina Inkina were named to the Western Junior College Athletic Conference All-Conference team on Sunday.

Baty, a 5-foot-6 freshman guard from Dallas, Texas, averaged just over 8 points and 4 assists per-game in 2016. Baty played 692 minutes for the Lady Texans in her first season and finished the year with 235 total points on the year. Baty averaged 9.9 points-per-game in the WJCAC and also had 68 assists during conference play, while also finishing the season with 92 total rebounds for the Lady Texans. Baty scored in double figures in nine games for South Plains, including a 25-point performance against New Mexico Junior College on January 9.

Inkina, a 6-foot-1 freshman forward from Belarus earned WJCAC honorable mention honors after she averaged 7.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per-game. Inkina shot over 45 percent from the field in conference play while finishing the season with 168 points on the season, and also hauled in 94 total rebounds on the year. Inkina had nine games where she scored in double figures for the Lady Texans, including a career high of 21 points against Clarendon College on February 18.
