Lady Texans Rout LSU-Eunice

Levelland— The South Plains College Lady Texans picked up their second win of the season Friday night, routing Louisiana State University Eunice 65-43 at the Texan Dome.

Yanina Inkina led SPC with 14 points and five rebounds, knocking down six of her nine shots from the field. Jasmyne Martin scored 12 points for the Lady Texans, while Evelyn Omemmah and Elizabeth Cera each had nine.

The Lady Texans' defense gave LSU-Eunice headaches for four quarters, forcing 17 turnovers which resulted in 17 points for SPC. South Plains jumped out to a commanding 34-20 lead at the half, resulting in Eunice shooting just 24% from the field over the first two quarters.  

The second half saw much of the same as South Plains outscored its opponent 31-23 over the last two quarters, shooting over 60% from the field in the third quarter, while holding LSU-Eunice to just 24% shooting.

South Plains will now face Southwest Christian at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Texan Dome.
