At the beginning of the game the Lady Texans pulled ahead of the Lady Wranglers by a few points. Odessa had a lot of height down low where they put in quite a few baskets that pulled them ahead of South Plains 28-18 with seven and a half minutes left in the first half.

South Plains pushed the ball up the court well, resulting in some fast breaks that help shorten the gap between them and Odessa.

Shazay Norris set up Victoria Lopez perfectly with a nice toss of the ball for a layup, which fired up the Lady Texan team. Another fast break down the court by Lopez closed the gap by six points with only a minute and a half left in the first period.

Buzzer sounded to end the half, but at that moment Odessa put in two more points putting them ahead 35-29.

Closing in by 10 points South Plains fed the ball down to the players at the blocks, as well as, putting in some good shots outside the paint.

Lady Texans had a slow beginning in the second half, but with five minutes left South Plains added a three-point shot by Paris Townsend.  This put the Lady Texans trailing the Lady Wranglers by 10 points.

Blevie Lucchesi and Shazay Norris led the team with 10 points each, and teammatesMarkeyla Hicks and Courtney Randle put in nine points apiece.

The Lady Texans will be continuing conference play Monday, Feb. 2 in Snyder, Texas against Western Texas College. The game will be streamed live at 5:45 p.m on spctexans.com.
