LIBERAL, Kan. – The South Plains College Lady Texans will return to action following a two week layoff when they participate in the Seward County Billy's/Days Inn Classic Nov. 14-15.

South Plains (1-1) will be jumping into the fire with a tough road test against host and No. 20-ranked Seward County (3-0) followed by a game against NJCAA second-ranked Hutchinson (2-0) on Saturday.

Seward County has become very familiar with teams from Region 5 this season, netting victories over Hill and Weatherford, the latter on the Coyotes home court, and will face Midland College Nov. 15 to make it four teams from Region 5 to start the season.

The second-ranked Lady Dragons have two convincing victories over Labette and Hesston and will face Midland Friday afternoon.  Hutchinson finished last season with a 35-1 record, winning every game to start the season before falling in the championship game of the NJCAA Tournament.

South Plains began this season with a 64-46 loss to Eastern Arizona before bouncing back with a dominating 91-43 victory over Chandler-Gilbert.

Tipoff Friday against Seward County is scheduled for 6 p.m. while Saturday's game time versus Hutchinson is set for 2 p.m.
