Stephanie Moore added 10 points and five boards, while Kayla Turner also chipped in with 10, a season high.

The Lady Texans (16-3, 3-1 WJCAC), got off to a dominant start, leading 16-3 at the 13-minute mark, but allowed Western Texas to creep back into it.  By halftime, South Plains was clinging to a 25-22 lead.

Much of the second half was beginning to look bleak, too.

Western Texas (8-13, 1-4) took their first lead of the game just over a minute into the second half, but the Lady Texans never let them get more than three points ahead in the back half that featured five tied scores.  

Down three just past the midway point, the Lady Texans made their move with a 14-2 scoring run that gave South Plains all the cushion they would need to cruise to victory.  

After playing four conference games since their WJCAC opener against Midland last Thursday, the Lady Texans will now get to enjoy a week without competition as they will not play again until they play Odessa College next Thursday, Jan. 24, in Odessa.
