The Lady Coyotes (24-3) tied Hill College for the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) championship, but earned the No. 1 seed on a coin flip.

It appeared the crowd at the Rip Griffin Center might be in for a barn burner as Roberts nailed a couple of deep 3s to open the game and the two teams were knotted up at 13 apiece with 14:36 to go in the opening half.

A 12-1 Weatherford run would only be the beginning as the Lady Texans trailed at halftime 60-38 and would go on to fall to Weatherford 103-76.

Roberts made 10-of-22 shots from the field and was 3-of-8 from beyond the arc to lead four Lady Texans in double figures. Moneeka Carter was just shy of her season high of 15 points attained January 23 vs Frank Phillips, finishing with 13 Friday night. Stephanie Mooregrabbed 13 rebounds and chipped in with 10 points to complete her sixth double-double of the season and Shea Myatt also scored 10.

South Plains (9-20) will finish the season without a winning record for the first time since the 2003-04 squad finished with an overall record of 15-15.
