Thursday's games feature both Texans and Lady Texans coming off big road wins Monday at Odessa.

The No. 1 ranked Texans had little problem disposing of the tenth-ranked Wranglers Monday night in Odessa, winning 84-66 behind Marshall Henderson's 26 points and Stanton Kidd's 20. South Plains (24-0, 9-0) forced Odessa into 26 turnovers and Henderson had a game high six steals.

Through nine WJCAC games the Texans are easily the highest scoring team in the conference averaging 84 points per game. Their defense has stepped up as well, holding the WJCAC's second ranked scoring team to only 66 points Monday night and average a shade under 67 during conference.

Steve Green has dominated Frank Phillips during his 12 seasons as head coach of the Texans, posting a record of 19-4.

The Lady Texans (7-17, 4-4) picked up a key victory Monday night in Odessa, defeating the Lady Wranglers 59-53. Conference scoring leader Ashley Roberts broke out of a three game scoring slump in which she scored only 13 points by exploding for a game high 33 points on 10-of-16 shooting from the field to help SPC maintain their one game lead on Western Texas and their 1 ½ game lead on Howard, who was idle Monday.

South Plains will host a Lady Plainsmen team desperate to pick up a conference victory as they enter with a 5-18 overall record and 0-8 in the WJCAC.
