
Canavan, a sophomore post player from El Paso, had a dominant two years at South Plains College averaging 12.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Her career high of 31 points came in a February 21 game against Clarendon College and she twice recorded 23 rebounds to break the single game record previously held by standout Sheryl Swoopes. Additionally, Canavan recorded 20 double-doubles during her sophomore campaign and finished with 32 for her career as a Lady Texan.
Roberts, a freshman guard from Dallas, provided the Lady Texans with an outside threat by hitting 56 three-point shots during the season, including a season high six in
the Lady Texans Region 5 tournament loss to Cisco College. Roberts finished the season averaging nearly 15 points per game, ranking third in the WJCAC.
Canavan and Roberts helped the Lady Texans to an overall record of 19 wins and 9 losses, and helped South Plains finish in a tie for second in the WJCAC standings with a record of 8-4.
