Canavan breaks Swoopes' single game rebound record in win
HOBBS, N.M. - Sophomore Kelsey Canavan recorded her 16thdouble-double of the season, and 28th in her career as a Lady Texan, and in the process broke Sheryl Swoopes' single game rebound record by one when she worked overtime on the glass and finished with 23. Swoopes had held the record since she pulled down 22 rebounds in January, 1990, against Phoenix College.

Raely Parada struck first in the second half with a made shot inside the paint and the Lady Texans never trailed again and led by as many as 11 points on two occasions, the latter coming after a put back by Canavan with 6:55 remaining on the clock.

South Plains would go on to cruise to a nine point victory, 69-60.

Ashley Roberts led all scorers with 20 points, while Parada and Lauren McKinney chipped in with 16 each. Roberts and Parada played the entire game.
