South Plains College is coming off a men's and women's sweep of Western Texas College Monday night in Snyder. The Lady Texans (10-6, 1-2) defeated WTC 68-59 in a game that was not as close of the final score indicated with SPC leading by as many as 17 in the second half. The Texans (12-6, 1-2) were simply too much for NJCAA No. 17 ranked WTC in the closing minutes as they stretched a tight game to an eight point victory, 66-58.

Lady Texan post players Kelsey Canavan, Toi'Easha Cooper, and Lauren McKinney will once again have their hands full guarding a team that boasts eight players standing 5 feet, 10 inches or taller. For the season, Odessa has averaged 68 points per game, while SPC scores 69 per contest.

For the fourth consecutive game, the Texans will face an opponent ranked in the NJCAA top 20 with the Wranglers (17-2, 3-0) entering at No. 20 and coming off an 84-50 pummeling of Frank Phillips College. Averaging 91.3 points per game, Odessa has four players averaging double figures for the season, led by Derrick Barden at 16.7 points and 13.5 rebounds per game.

Freshman Greg Gainey leads the way for the Texans with 15.2 points per game.
