LEVELLAND, Texas - The South Plains College Texan (11-6, 0-2) and Lady Texan (9-6, 0-2) basketball squads literally have their backs against the wall as they enter Monday night showdowns against Western Texas College in Snyder. Tip-off is set for 5:45 p.m. for the women's game and 7:45 p.m. for the men.
Both teams are off to 0-2 starts in Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) play after dropping games to Howard and Midland last week. With the Odessa College Lady Wranglers (11-7, 1-0) and No. 20 ranked Wranglers (16-2, 2-0), getting wins from Western Texas could prove critical. The Lady Westerners enter the game with an overall record of 11-9 and WJCAC record of 1-1, while the Westerners (13-2, 1-1) come in with a No. 17 NJCAA ranking.
