Lady Texans Pound South Mountain 91-70

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The South Plains College Lady Texans won the second game of their Arizona road trip, defeating South Mountain 91-70.
 
The Lady Texans had several strong performances with four players scoring in double figures, led by Sajoyia Griffin who scored 20 poins on 9-of-16 shooting.  Griffin also added seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in 30 minutes of playing time.  Lubbock native Taniqua Ards continued scoring big adding 18 points.  Rachel Gray added 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting, which included nailing 4-of-5 from downtown.  Dayon Hall-Jones scored 12 points for the Lady Texans. 
Also for SPC, Samiesha Williams contributed to the cause with eight points and five rebounds, Chasity Workman added seven and also had a team high eight rebounds, Tasheena Byrd scored seven, and Lashanda Luckey had four points.
 
The Lady Texans complete their Arizona road trip tomorrow when they face Central Arizona at 5:00 p.m. (MST) in Coolidge, Arizona.
