ABILENE, TEXAS – Following an impressive outing from South Plains at the John Jacobs Invitational at the University of Oklahoma over the weekend, the Texans and Lady Texans were back on the road competing at the ACU Oliver Jackson Twilight Meet on the campus of Abilene Christian University.

The Texans had a plethora of top finishers, including Okeen Willaims whose time of 10.54 in the 100 meters took the top position. Kelvin Keter continued his winning ways in the 5000 meters, finishing first with a final time of 14:43.51. Adrian Williams went on to take the top position in the men's javelin, as his final throw of 209' 1" was good enough for first.

In the men's 4x400 relay, South Plains team comprised of Williams, Robert Dunning, DeVante Lacy and Dedrian Windham went on to take first place with their final time of 3:06.06. Also worthy of mention is Robert Dunning, whose final time of 52.51 in the men's 400 hurdles earned him second place honors.

Atem Akok impressed in the 3000 steeplechase with his final time 10:30.79 which was good enough for third overall, while Williams also went on to place third for the Texans in the 200 meters with a final time of 21.10.

On the women's side, the Lady Texans were led by Medinah Spencer in the 200 meters, as her final time of 23.76 was good enough for first place. Poro Gahekave also earned first place honors for the Lady Texans in the 1500 meters, finishing with a final time of 4:54.45.

The Lady Texans' Selena Orlenas went on to take first overall in the javelin competition, as her final throw of 121' 3" led all competitors. In the women's 4x100 relay, the Lady Texans team comprised of Spencer, Mauricia Prieto, Latriceia Smith and Deja Harrison took the top position with their final time of 45.82.

The Lady Texans also earned first place honors in the 4x400 relay, as Spencer, Prieto, Smith and Deja Harrison finished with a final time of 3.38.89, capping off another strong outing for the South Plains.
