LEVELLAND — The South Plains College men's basketball team fell to #5 Indian Hills 94-88 Friday night in their opening contest of the SPC Invitational at the Texan Dome. 

South Plains moves to 9-4 on the season and will be back on the floor at 2 p.m. on Saturday against Hill College. 

Caleb Blackwell led South Plains on the offensive end with 21 points, nine assists, and seven boards, connecting on six of 14 shots from the field. Tavaj Cope netted 16 points and four boards over 31 minutes, while Clarence Payia provided 14 points off the bench. The Texans shot a 45 percent clip from the field and 37 percent from distance in the contest.
