No. 2 South Plains holds off Seminole State 67-59 Friday in Dallas

DALLAS, TX — The second-ranked South Plains College men's basketball team rallied in the second half as they improved to 7-0 on the year with a 67-59 win over Seminole State Friday at the Collin County Thanksgiving Classic.

South Plains returns to action on Saturday against Cowley County at 3 p.m. in Dallas. The game will be streaming live at spctexans.com.

South Plains trailed 31-27 at the midway point but answered back as sophomore Trey Wade netted a career-high 20 points including eight in the final stint. 6-foot-9 big man Gaige Prim finished with 19 points, 12 coming in the second half as Prim recorded his seventh consecutive game in double figures for the Texans.

South Plains' Chris Orlina bucketed 14 points including eight in the final 20 minutes while sophomore Charles Jennings finished with 12 points, all come in the back half of the contest. Kris Wyche led Seminole State (8-1) in scoring with 17 points including 11 before the break.

Sophomore guard Gideon Gardner tallied seven points for the Trojans while Anthony Kinser scored six points and DeAngelo Adkins netted four.
