LEVELLAND —  The South Plains College men's basketball team will return to the hardwood on Thursday when they host New Mexico Military Institute at 6:30 p.m. at the Texan Dome.

South Plains comes into Thursday with an 11-4 record including a perfect 3-0 mark in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference. The Broncos will be looking for their first conference win as they sit at 9-7 to date and 0-3 in the WJCAC.

Sophomore Isaiah Maurice recorded his second double-double for the Texans on Monday against Howard as the Durham, North Carolina native is averaging 12.1 points per game to date. The 6-foot-10 transfer from Kansas State is shooting a team-high 69.7 percent from the field and 75.8 percent from the charity stripe. Texas Tech signee Deshawn Corprew is averaging 11.3 points and 5.8 boards per game, shooting 46.9 percent from the field after 15 games.

The Broncos are led by sophomore guard Trevelin Queen who is averaging 27.1 points per game, shooting 50.2 percent from the field after 16 games. Queen is also averaging 7.7 assists and 2.7 assists per contest. Sophomore Rosel Hurley is shooting 58 percent from the floor on the year, averaging 16.1 points and six boards per game. The Broncos have three other players averaging double-digit scoring figures as Davis Steelman, Atem Bior, and Kaleb Morton are each averaging over 11 points per game.
