The South Plains College Texans are set to travel to Hobbs, New Mexico tonight for a showdown with the New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. MST.

Both teams currently sit at 8-3 in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference, and will come into tonight's matchup deadlocked for first place. Winners in six of their last seven games, the Texans picked up two crucial victories last week after downing Frank Phillips 77-72 on Monday night, followed by a 71-63 win over Odessa College on Thursday.

Jerron Love led the Texans against the Wranglers with a 13-point performance, while Roberto Gallinat and Marlon Jones each chipped in 12 points. Following Monday's contest, the Texans will travel to Roswell on Thursday when they match up with New Mexico Military Institute.
