Texans Sweep Thanksgiving Classic

Plano— The South Plains College Texans extended their win streak to four games after picking up two more wins this weekend at the Thanksgiving Classic in Plano.

SPC routed Collin county Community College on November 27 69-51 thanks to an 18-point performance from sophomore guard Deontae North, who also had eight assists and three rebounds.

Che Bob shot 60% from the floor and finished with 16 points and seven boards for the Texans, while Marlon Jones put together a double-double performance, racking up 10 points while also recording 10 rebounds for South Plains.

In their second game on Saturday, SPC drummed Murray State 90-60 behind Marlon Jones' 23 points and 11 rebounds. The Texans had five players score in double figures against the Aggies, including North who finished the contest with 15 points, six assists and five rebounds.

Michael Wolfe went 6-9 from the field en route to a 12-point performance, while Taelin Webb and Diamante Langston each had 10 points. Bob contributed with seven points and nine boards for the Texans, while Justice Green had six points and four rebounds.

The Texans will get their next opportunity to stay in the win column on Wednesday when they open on conference play against Midland College on December 2 at the Texan Dome beginning at 7:30 p.m.
