Emmanuel Omogobo, Pat Birt, and Brandon Neel each lead the team with 14 points. Andre Spight added 13 points along with Marlon Jones 11 points moved the Texans to 15-4 overall and 5-1 in conference to place them in second right behind Howard College (15-4, 6-0) in WJCAC standings.
Frank Phillips pushed South Plains in the first half shown by the game score being tied 13 times.
Plainsmen pulled ahead by two after a shot was made off a rebound, leaving 36 seconds on the clock. Just enough time for Spight to assist the ball to Omogbo for made shot that resulted in a tie going into the half, 39-39.
First few minutes into the second half the game was consistent to the first with back and forth play and neither team pulling ahead significantly. Not until five minutes in when the Texans took the lead and held it.
