From the beginning the Texans dominated in scoring, starting with David Kadiri's four points put the Chaparrals trailing the Texans for the remainder of the game.
South Plains had four players score in double digits over Midland College. Emmanuel Omogbo lead the team with 17 points and 14 rebounds, Brandon Neel made 16 points,Andre Horne added 15 points, and 14 points scored by Andre Spight.
The Texans lead by 30 points at the end of the first half after an 8 point play made by two three-point shots, one by Lincoln Davis and the other by Horne, and along with a slam dunk made by Neel.
One game remains in regular-season play for the Texans before the NJCAA Region V Tournament in Brownwood, March. 4-7. Texans started the night in a tie for the lead with Howard College in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference. The top four teams will qualify for the Region V Tournament.
Last conference game will be against Odessa College (20-8, 8-7) in Odessa, Texas Thursday Feb. 26 at 7:45 p.m. The games will be streamed live on spctexan.com and on KLVTradio.com.
