South Plains College seemed to have the game in hand as they had a double-digit lead early in the second half. Grayson rallied and took a one-point lead 39-38 before the Texans put the game away by scoring 20 unanswered points, going on to win 67-52.
The Texans were led by Deshaunt Walker who scored 22 points, including some timely three-point buckets down the stretch to help put the game away. Malcolm Miller added 14, while sophomore Kenny Brown also scored in double digits with 10 points.
South Plains College will play again Saturday night when they square off with Carl Albert State College at 4 p.m
