Tairu and Tatum Elected To Hoop It Up In All-Star Game
ODESSA - Landon Tatum and David Tairu, both of whom recently signed with four-year universities, will be hooping it up in the 2009 NJCAA Men's basketball All-Star game Saturday, April 25 at Odessa College. Tairu and Tatum will be representing the Region 5 All-Stars, who will take on the NJCAA Division I national team.

Tairu, who yesterday signed on the dotted line to play for Texas Tech next year, was named Most Valuable Player of the Western Junior College Athletic Conference, was a member of the All-Region 5 team, as well as a third team All-American this season. He also led the Texans averaging 17.5 points per game.

Tatum started every game for the Texans this past year and averaged 8.7 points and 5.8
assists per game while averaging almost 32 minutes per contest. Tatum will be reuniting with former Texan Luciano De Souza at the University of Idaho next season.

The division I all-star game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 at the Odessa College Sports Center.
