STEVE GREEN – INDUCTED 2015 - HALL OF FAME

Steve Green was inducted into the NJCAA Men’s Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame on March 16, 2015, a fitting honor for one of the most accomplished coaches in junior college basketball history. A two-time National Coach of the Year, Green has compiled an extraordinary career record of 535–147, highlighted by eight conference championships, seven regional titles, and two national championships.

Green’s place among the sport’s elite was solidified in 2012 when his South Plains College team completed a remarkable 36–0 season—only the sixth undefeated campaign ever recorded in NJCAA history. His second national championship elevated him into an exclusive group of just 12 coaches who have won multiple NJCAA titles.

Green began his collegiate coaching career at Howard College, where he posted an impressive 81–19 record over three seasons, capturing two WJCAC titles and one regional championship. He then moved to Midland College, guiding the Chaps to a 73–24 record, a regional championship, and an eighth-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament.

His tenure at South Plains College stands among the greatest in NJCAA basketball. At SPC, Green earned six conference titles, five regional championships, six national tournament appearances, a national runner-up finish, and two national championships, amassing a remarkable 381–104 record.

Steve Green’s career is defined by excellence, consistency, and championship standards—hallmarks of a true Hall of Famer.
