HOBBS — Alison Guaman Tisalema placed third in the women's 5k and Divan Du Plooy placed sixth in the men's 8k Friday at the New Mexico Junior College Invitational at Harry McAdams Park.
Tisalema posted a 18:36.9 with a 5:59.5 average mile to lead the Lady Texans. Du Plooy clocked a 24:33.3, with an average mile of 4:56.4. South Plains' Tamer Sakar was 11th in 25:26.6, while Gavin Morrison placed 13th in 25:35.1.
South Plains will be back on the course at the Region V Championships on Saturday, October 26 in Hobbs.
