HOBBS — Divan Du Plooy led South Plains with a fourth-place finish in the men's 8k Saturday at the New Mexico Junior College Invitational at Harry McAdams Park.
Du Plooy finished in a time of 24:21.2, while South Plains Matthew Gordon went 26:42.1, good enough for 13th overall. Gavin Morrison posted a 28:44.2 as the Texans finished third in the final team standings with a total time of 2:19.46.
Sophomore Lilliana Guerrero led the Lady Texans with a ninth-place finish in a time of 20:44.1 in the women's 5k, while Rushana Dwyer placed 14th in 21:44.5 The Lady Texans placed third in the final team standings with a total time of 2:04.40.
South Plains will be back on the course on Friday, October 6 at the NMJC Invitational #2.
