Tanui leads Texans with third place finish Friday at SPC Cross Country Invitational

LEVELLAND — Aron Tanui turned in a third place finish in the men's 8k Friday, running at Lake Brashear Lake at the South Plains College Cross Country Invitational.

Tanui placed third for the second time in as many weeks Friday, leading the Texans with a time of 24:36.2. South Plains' Christian Francisco clocked a time of 28:14.1, good enough for 13th overall. Trayquan Francis placed 23rd for South Plains, turning in a time of 33:14.4.

In the women's 5k, Lilliana Guerrero led the Lady Texans with a time of 20:14.1, good enough for 11th overall. Esmeralda Espinoza posted a time of 20:33.9 for South Plains, placing 14th on the afternoon.
