LEVELLAND — Former Texan standouts Josh Webster and Roberto Gallinat have been selected as two of eight NCAA Div. I men's basketball players to compete at the 2019 Great Clips Slam Dunk Championships as part of the 31st annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships.

Airing live on ESPN on Thursday at 8 p.m. CT from the Target Center in Minneapolis, the event will showcase the dunk and 3-point competitions, spotlighting 24 of the country's top college basketball prospects.

An All-Conference selection during the 2016-2017 season, Webster was the catalyst on the Texan's squad that amassed a 32-2 overall record, earning a No. 1 national ranking for 16 consecutive weeks, capping the year with a berth in the NJCAA Men's Basketball Final Four in Hutchinson, KS. Webster averaged 9.1 points and 7.1 assists per game while shooting over 58 percent from the field.

Following his sophomore stint, Webster transferred to Texas Tech where he saw action in 26 games and was a part of the Red Raider's first ever trip to the NCAA Men's Basketball Elite 8. Receiving his bachelor's degree in University Studies in August of 2018, Webster transferred to Missouri State University to close out his final year with the Bears.

During the 2018-2019 season, Webster led the Missouri Valley Conference with 5.1 assists per game and a 3.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. Webster averaged 7.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game and was named to the MVC All-Newcomer Team.

A 6-3 guard from Atlanta, Gallinat was an All-Conference selection during his sophomore stint in Levelland. Gallinat was the Texans' second-leading scorer, averaging 11.9 points per game while shooting over 48 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from the 3-point line.

Recently completing his senior season at the University of the Pacific, Gallinat led the Tigers in scoring during the 2018-2019 season, averaging 15.2 points per game while shooting 44 percent from the hardwood. Gallinat scored in double figures 26 times this season, including a 31 point performance against Loyola Marymount on Feb. 23.
