Lady Texan rodeo makes strong push on day three of College National Finals Rodeo

CASPER, Wyoming — The South Plains College women's rodeo team continued to make their push for a spot in Saturday's finals as they impressed once again Tuesday on day three of the College National Finals Rodeo.

Sophomore Alex Odle turned in the fifth best time in barrel racing in her second of three runs, posting a time of 14.55. Odle now sits fourth overall with a 29.48 average with one run remaining. The top 12 contestants in each event advance to Saturday's finals.

South Plains' Lariat Larner is just five spots out of the 12th position after turning in a time of 10.9 in breakaway roping on Tuesday. Larner currently sits 17th overall amongst 40 contestants with a 14.9 average after two runs.

After three runs in goat tying, Lady Texan Jenna Dallyn is tied for second overall after a dazzling time of 6.5 in her final run, ending with an overall average of 20.0. Sophomore cowboy Chet Boren ran the 10th fastest time in steer wrestling Tuesday morning, posting a 4.7 on his second run. Boren is currently seventh overall with a 9.9 average with one run to go.
