LEVELLAND — After capturing the 2019 Region V title and advancing to the Final Four at the NJCAA Men’s Basketball National Tournament, the South Plains College men’s basketball program will send eight members from the 2018-2019 squad to four-year universities next season.

Airing live on ESPN on Thursday at 8 p.m. CT from the Target Center in Minneapolis, the event will showcase the dunk and 3-point competitions, spotlighting 24 of the country's top college basketball prospects.

LEVELLAND — For the second consecutive week, South Plains sophomore forward Gaige Prim has been named the Region V Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Leading the Texans with 21.6 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, Prim has scored in double figures in every game this season and has recorded 17 double-doubles on the year. Prim netted 24 points and 13 rebounds on Jan. 28 against Odessa, which he followed up with a 17 point, 15 rebound performance in the Texans’ 72-58 win over Midland on Jan. 31.
LEVELLAND — Gaige Prim led all scorers with 28 points and eight rebounds as No. 5 South Plains blasted Frank Phillips College 111-51 Monday night at the Texan Dome to improve to 19-3 on the year and 8-2 in the WJCAC.
South Plains shot a season-high 68.3 percent from the floor and 55.6 percent from behind the arc as five players netted double figures and 12 players scored in the contest.
