No. 15 Lady Texans travel to Athens Nov. 23-24 for Thanksgiving Classic

LEVELLAND — The No. 15 ranked South Plains College women's basketball team will head to Athens, Texas Nov. 23-24 for a two-game stint at the Thanksgiving Classic at Trinity Valley Community College.

South Plains will matchup with Grayson College at 11 a.m. on Friday before an 11 a.m. tipoff against Garden City at 11 a.m. on Saturday. 

The Lady Texans enter the weekend with a 7-1 record after three wins a week ago at the Coastal Bend College Classic in Beeville. South Plains bested the Lady Cougars 96-62 on Thursday before routing Palo Alto College 136-39 on Friday and capped the weekend with a 145-36 victory over San Antonio College. South Plains' 145 points and 109-point victory margin are both school records.

South Plains heads into the weekend ranked first in the country in total points (740), fourth in the country with 92.5 points per game, fourth in field goals per game (37.4), and fifth in field goal percentage (52.4%). Sophomore Keke Hunter leads the Lady Texans on the offensive end with 20.8 points and 12.9 rebounds per game.

Hunter ranks first in the country in offensive rebounds (53) and is second in total rebounds with 103. Hunter also ranks third in the country with 166 total points and seventh in the country with 14 blocked shots.
