"The preparation is done, and we will work on some logistics, but as far as our training goes, we've done all we can do," Vance said. "We will work to sharpen some things up, but at the end of the day, it was the work we put in throughout the indoor season that set us up to be where we are. I think our athletes are ready, I think they showed that their last time out, and they're mentally and physically ready to compete."

"Having athletes that have been in a championship environment is always helpful," Vance said. "They know how things are going to go, but we still talk about being aware of what you need to do when you step on the track. What we talk about is you can't score if you don't make the finals, so it's about execution on day one, and we remind them what they have to do to make the finals."

Ranked fourth in the national polls, the Lady Texans have acquired 15 top 10 national marks to date. Freshman standout Jelena Rowe will look to solidify her claim as the nation's best, currently ranked first in the country in the women's high jump with a clearance of 6' 0.5", posted at the Charlie Thomas Invitational on Feb. 2.

"I think we've done a good job of putting the people in place to where they're going to be able to score in the events in which they're entered," assistant coach Justin Hobbs said. "We try to qualify as many athletes as possible to give us those options, and both teams did a good job of stepping up and qualifying when they needed to. Now that the entries and in and everything is set, we have to go out and execute."
