Both teams have a mixture of sophomore returners as well as freshman newcomers.
The Texans – who finished third as last years NJCAA Cross Country Championships – will once again be led by Antibahs Kibiwott who finished sixth overall a year ago in Fort Dodge, Ia.
Fellow 2013 All-American Jose Martinez, as well as Colton Hollis will complement Kibiwott during the season.
J'Cee Holmes and Kaitlyn Henderson are the lone sophomores for the Lady Texans. Holmes, a native of Pampa, Texas, earned All-American honors in the 2013 Half-Marathon.
Saturday's competition in Snyder will be the first of five regular season cross country meets leading up to the NJCAA Cross Country Championships Saturday, Sept. 8.
South Plains College will host the NJCAA meet at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock.
