Clarendon edges Lady Texans 77-65 Monday

CLARENDON — The South Plains College women's basketball team fell to Clarendon 77-65 Monday night on the road at Bulldog Gymnasium, as the Lady Texans move to 5-5 in conference play.

South Plains will be on the road again Thursday when they travel to Big Spring for a 5:45 p.m. tip against Howard College. The contest will stream live at spctexans.com.

Yendrie Acosta led South Plains with 17 points and nine boards, while Brenda Schwartz finished with 13 and Bella Belong chipped in eight boards and 10 rebounds. South Plains shot 31 percent from the floor in the contest, and struggled from distance, shooing 14.8 percent from the 3-point line.

Aylsse Magassa scored a game-high 22 points for Clarendon, while Ta'Leeyah Glynn netted 20 points over 24 minutes. Clarendon shot 39.3 percent from the floor and was six of 24 from the 3-point line.
