Lady Texans fall to Western Texas 57-54 Monday in Snyder

SNYDER — The South Plains College women's basketball team fell to Western Texas on the road Monday as the Lady Westerners edged out a 57-54 victory at the WTC Coliseum.

South Plains will look to get back in the win column on Thursday when they play host to Clarendon College at 5:45 p.m. at the Texan Dome.

Dabria Blackwell led the Lady Texans with 12 points over 19 minutes, dropping in three of 14 shots from the field and was five of six from the free throw line. Shcira Fowles finished with nine points and two boards for South Plains, while Isabella Jaramillo netted nine points over 25 minutes.

The Lady Texans shot a 30 percent clip from the field and a 25 percent mark from the 3-point line. Alliah Scallion and Sequoia Carroll each finished with 12 points for Western Texas, as the Lady Westerners shot 40 percent from the floor and were six of 13 from distance.
