Balanced offensive attack leads Lady Texans past Trinidad State 82-53 Friday in Colorado

LA JUNTA, Colorado — Bella Belong led all scorers with 15 points Friday as the South Plains College women's basketball team throttled Trinidad State 82-53 in their opening contest at the Otero College Classic.

South Plains will be back on the floor on Saturday when they tip off against Otero at 4 p.m. The contest will stream live at spctexans.com.

Belong finished six of 13 from the floor while also snagging four boards and blocked three shots. Maya Woodson netted 12 points and grabbed five rebounds while Jennifer Silva finished with 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

Shcira Fowles bucketed 11 points, knocking down five of 11 shots from the field as South Plains shot 39 percent from the floor and knocked down four 3s in the contest.
