Jaramillo buckets 21, Lady Texans oust Hill 64-48 Thursday in Midland

MIDLAND — Isabella Jaramillo went off for a career-high 21 points as the South Plains College women's basketball team ousted Hill College 64-48 in their first of the three games Thursday at the Chaparral Center at the Midland College Classic.

South Plains will be back on the floor on Friday against Panola at 5 p.m. before closing out the road trip against No. 9 Trinity Valley at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Jaramillo knocked down six of eight shots from the floor, went seven-for-seven from the free throw line, and pulled in five boards over 27 minutes. Bell Belong netted nine points and eight boards for South Plains, while Sahir Alizada finished with nine points over 28 minutes.

Jennifer Silva totaled six points and a game-high 12 rebounds coming off the bench, while Shcira Fowles tallied seven points and nine boards over 28 minutes. South Plains shot 32.8 percent from the field and were 16 of 21 from the charity stripe.
