ODESSA — The South Plains College women's basketball team dropped a conference road matchup Monday evening, falling to Odessa College 61-46 at the OC Sports Center.

SPC struggled to get into a rhythm offensively, shooting just 29.6 percent from the field and was one of 12 from distance. Sophomore Celia Sumbane netted 11 points and 15 boards over 37 minutes for South Plains, while Vitoria Carvalho finished with 12 points and six rebounds coming off the bench.

Following Thursday's matchup, the Lady Texans will advance to the postseason, which will get underway March 8-11 from the Tiger Pit at Frenship High School at the NJCAA Region V Tournament.
