#24 Lady Texans fall to #1 Trinity Valley 58-41 Saturday in Midland

MIDLAND — The South Plains College women's basketball team fell to top-ranked Trinity Valley 58-41 Saturday at the Al G. Langford Chaparral Center.

The Lady Texans will be back on the road on Monday to take on the University of the Southwest JV at 5:00 p.m., followed by a trip to Athens Nov. 25-26 at the Trinity Valley Thanksgiving Classic. The Lady Texans will take on Paris at noon on Friday, followed by a noon matchup against Panola College at noon on Saturday. Both games will air live on ESPN+.

Vitoria Carvalho led South Plains on the offensive end with 11 points and five boards, connecting on four of nine shots from the floor, and was three of six from the free throw line. Matilda Soderlund finished with eight points as the Lady Texans shot 29.3 percent from the floor in the contest.

Trinity Valley's Makiyah McCollister led all scorers with 15 points, while Abby Cater netted 14 points and grabbed six rebounds. Trinity Valley shot 34.8 percent in the contest and were just 2 of 15 from distance.
