#2 Lady Texans cruise to 90-43 win over Phoenix College Saturday in Arizona

PHOENIX, Arizona — The second-ranked South Plains College women's basketball team had four players net double figures on the offensive end as they cruised to a 90-43 win over Phoenix College Saturday in their opening game at the Phoenix College Classic.

With the win, the Lady Texans improve to 15-0 on the year and will be back on the hardwood on Sunday at 11 p.m. MST against Lake Region State College. The game will stream live at spctexans.com on the 'Watch Lady Texans' tab at the top of the homepage.

"We are happy to get a win on the road after 12 days off and some travel delays, and without one of our starters," South Plains head coach Cayla Petree said. "I really thought the entire team came in with a great mindset. We challenged them that the two hardest games in college basketball to play mentally is the one before Christmas and the one after the break. They stepped up both times and really competed and that shows they are maturing and growing as a team."

Sophomore Oceane Robin led the way for South Plains with 21 points, seven rebounds, and two assists, connecting on 8 of 16 shots from the field and was 2-for-4 from the 3-point line. Freshman Ashala Moseberry went off for 16 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the floor to go along with five assists, five steals, and three rebounds for the Lady Texans.

Johanna Teder finished with 12 points, six rebounds and four steals for South Plains, dropping in 5 of 6 shots from the field and also handed out six assists. TCU signee Caroline Germond tacked on 11 points and seven assists, bucketing 5 of 9 shots from the floor and also picked four steals against the Lady Bears. Ruth Koang chipped in with nine points and a game-high 11 boards, dropping in 4 of 6 shots from the floor for South Plains.

Following Sunday's contest, South Plains will play two more in the desert including a 1 p.m. MST game against Bismarck State College on Monday, before wrapping up the road trip at 12 p.m. MST on Tuesday against Mesa Community College.
