#2 Lady Texans rout Snow College 66-46 Friday in Idaho

TWIN FALLS, IDAHO — The second-ranked South Plains College women's basketball team had three players notch double figures Friday in rout to a 66-46 victory over Snow College in their opening game of the College of Southern Idaho Thanksgiving Classic at CSI Gymnasium.

A perfect 9-0 to date, the Lady Texans will wrap up the road trip on Saturday against the College of Southern Idaho at 5:30 p.m. MST. The game will stream live at spctexans.com utilizing the "Watch Lady Texans" tab at the top of the homepage.

Sophomore Oceane Robin led the Lady Texans with the rock, pouring in 19 points and snagged eight rebounds over 31 minutes, shooting 6 of 7 from the field and went 7-for-8 from the free throw line. Sophomore center Ruth Koang finished with a double-double for South Plains, chipping in 13 points to go along with 10 rebounds in 24 minutes of play, shooting 6 of 8 from the field.

Asia McCoy totaled 13 points and six rebounds, four on the offensive end, connecting on 6 of 7 shots from the floor and also dished out a pair of assists coming off the bench for South Plains. TCU signee Caroline Germond tallied eight points three assists and two steals, while LSU bound Sarah Shematsi netted seven points and two boards in 25 minutes of action.

South Plains shot 51 percent from the hardwood including a 62.5 percent clip in the second half while forcing Snow (5-5) to shoot just 30.9 percent for the game and 21.7 percent from the 3-point line. Reagan Yamauchi led the Lady Badgers with 15 points on 6 of 12 shooting while Rachel Roberts had 15 points and Sydney Pilling totaled eight boards and four rebounds.
