Lady Texans win eighth straight, down Hill College 82-79 in Hillsboro

HILLSBORO, Texas—The South Plains College Lady Texans picked up their eighth consecutive victory on Saturday with an 82-79 victory over Hill College at the Hill College Classic to improve to 8-1 on the season.

South Plains' Jasauen Beard led all scorers with 28 points while Dabrasia Baty finished with a season high 12. Elizabeth Cera totaled 11 points for the Lady Texans while Yanina Inkina chipped in 10. Anndrea Lloyd would finish the contest with nine points and Brittany Smith finished with seven.

"I'm really proud of the growth of our team," South Plains head coach Cayla Petree said. "We picked up two wins this weekend in a pretty tough environment against two quality teams. Our bench was huge today stepping in and playing big minutes when we got into foul trouble early. This was a big weekend for our entire team picking up two team wins."
