Lady Texans win 7th straight with 49-37 victory over Cisco

HILLSBORO, Texas—The South Plains College Lady Texans improved to 7-1 on the season with a 49-37 victory of Cisco Junior College on Friday at the Hill College Classic.

The Lady Texans have now won seven consecutive games dating back to October 21.

South Plains was led by Elizabeth Cera, Jasauen Beard and Yanina Inkina, all of whom finished the contest with nine points. Brittany smith totaled seven for the Lady Texans, while Dabrasia Baty chipped in six. Felicia Jackson scored four points for South Plains, while Stella Logbognon and Madeline Dorris each had two points.

"There's nothing better than picking up a win on the road," South Plains head coach Cayla Petree said. "Cisco is a very scrappy team that competes for 40 minutes. We were lucky to come away with a win tonight."

South Plains will look to push its winning streak to eight games on Saturday when they tipoff with Hill College at 2 p.m.
