Scottsdale— The South Plains College Lady Texans ended their four game road trip at the Bill Culver Memorial Classic in Arizona with a dominating 65-51 drumming of Phoenix College.

Jasmyne Martin shot lights out for South Plains (12-5, 1-1), knocking down 10 of her 12 shots attempted, finishing the game with 21 points, six rebounds and four assists. Dabraisia Baty was also in double figures for South Plains, racking up 16 points and four assists while going 4-for-7 from the floor and 8-for-12 from the free throw line.

Elizabeth Cera and Taylor Holley each finished with nine points for SPC, and Evelyn Omemmah scored four points while also hauling in four rebounds in the contest. South Plains shot 56 percent from the floor in the second half (13-23) and 50 percent over the course of the game (24-48), while forcing the Lady Bears to go 18-58 from the field over four quarters.

"Coming off a 25-day break like we did, I was very proud of our resiliency and our ability to bounce back from a little adversity," South Plains head coach Cayla Petree said. "We played really well in three of the four games we played out here, and I'm just proud of the toughness that we showed, and this was a total team win with balanced scoring and we really got better each game."

After finishing the tournament 3-1 with wins over Chandler-Gilbert, Scottsdale and Phoenix, the Lady Texans will be back in action on January 4 when they are set to take on Cisco with tipoff set for 1 p.m. at the Texan Dome in Levelland.
