Lady Texans Pick Up Crucial Conference Win

Borger— The South Plains College Lady Texans picked up a crucial conference road win this Saturday drumming Frank Phillips 94-52 in Borger.

South Plains shot nearly 50% from the floor while placing four players in double figures. Freshman guard Jasmyne Martin led all scorers with 24 points and four rebounds for the Lady Texans, while Elizabeth Cera and Mia Cooper each finished with 16 points.

Taylor Holley went 3-6 from three while racking up 10 points and five boards for the Lady Texans, and Ugochinyere Nwarie finished with nine points and four rebounds. South Plains dominated both ends of the floor on Saturday finishing with 40 rebounds and 12 steals as a team while also dishing out 23 assists over the course of the game.

Now 9-4 on the year and 1-1 in conference play, the Lady Texans will take a three week break before heading to Scottsdale, Arizona for the Bill Culver Memorial Basketball Classic beginning on December 28.
