Lady Texans Improve To 8-3

Oklahoma—The South Plains College Lady Texans improved their record to 8-3 on the season this weekend at the Garden City College Thanksgiving Classic in Oklahoma.

South Plains dropped their first game to Garden City 90-70 on Friday before bouncing back to defeat Western Oklahoma State 72-51 on Saturday. Taylor Holley led the Lady Texas with 26 points and five rebounds against Garden City as she went 9-13 from the field and 7-9 from long distance.

Elizabeth Cera racked up 15 points and three assists for SPC, while Dabraisia Baty had 10 points and five assists. The Lady Texans shot over 41% from the floor against Garden City including 52% from three.

Taylor Holley led the Lady Texans in scoring once again in their second game against Western Oklahoma State on Saturday, racking up 20 points and 10 boards for South Plains. Elizabeth Cera finished with 14 points and four assists for SPC, while Jasmyne Martin and Dabraisia Baty each scored nine.

The Lady Texans shot 50% from three against Western Oklahoma, while forcing them to shoot just 33% from the floor including 3-16 from the three-point line. South Plains is now set to open up Conference Play when they square off with Midland College at 5:45 on December 2 in Levelland.
