Lady Texans Cotinue To Roll

Snyder— The South Plains College Lady Texans improved to 7-2 on the season downing Southwest Texas 97-32 Saturday morning in Snyder.

South Plains had six players in double figures, including Ugochinyere Nwarie who went 12-12 from the floor, finishing with 24 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Texans. Evelyn Omemmah recorded a double-double racking up 14 points and 13 boards for South Plains.

Taylor Holley recorded 12 points and eight rebounds for SPC, while Jasmyne Martin had 12 point and five rebounds.

The Lady Texans shot over 50% from the floor in the first 20 minutes while holding their opponent to shoot just 22% in the first half. Points in the paint were at a premium for the Lady Texans, outscoring Southwest 58-8 on the inside.

SPC received 32 points from the bench in the contest, while racking up 16 point on second chance opportunities. After holding Southwest to just 10 points in the first half, the Lady Texans continued to push the pace in the final 20 minutes, outscoring Southwest 53-22 over the course of the game.

Now a three game winning streak, the Lady Texans will look for their next opportunity to continue the streak when they travel to Garden City Community College on November 27 for the 2015 Thanksgiving Classic.
