Snyder— The South Plains College Lady Texans improved to 5-2 on the season with an 84-59 drumming of Fort Hood on Thursday in Snyder.

South Plains had four players in double figures, including Elizabeth Cera who led the Lady Texans with 17 points while shooting 7-8 from the floor and went 3-4 from long distance. Aliezza Brown finished with 15 points for South Plains, while Ramiah Henry scored 14 points and had nine rebounds.

Freshman forward Ugochinyere Nwarie finished with a double-double for the Lady Texans, racking up 11 points and 10 boards in the contest. Evelyn Omemmah had nine points and seven rebounds for the Lady Texans, while Jasmyne Martin had eight points and 11 boards.

SPC was both effective and efficient on the offensive side of the ball, shooting 46% from the field including 52% in the first half. The Lady Texans's defense held Fort Hood to just nine points in the second quarter, forcing them to shoot an abysmal 24% from the floor over the course of the game.

The Lady Texans forced 16 turnovers in the contest, outscoring their counterpart 52-31 over the final 20 minutes of the game. South Plains will get another opportunity to stay in the win column when they square off with Temple College at 6 p.m. Friday night in Snyder.
